We take sustainability
Digitalisation ensures enhanced utilisation of resources. This must be transformed into benefits – for clients, society and the environment.
Our selected UN Sustainable Development Goals
Corporate social responsibility, ESG and focus on sustainability are fundamental principles ingrained in all of Embriq’s activities. Our solutions are important tools for our clients as they minimise their climate footprint. We work continuously to reduce our own climate footprint and are certified to ISO 14001 and 9001. In order to contribute to Norway achieving its environmental goals, Embriq has chosen to work actively on five of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals – for which we believe that we can make a difference. By working actively on these goals, we will indirectly be contributing to stopping climate change by 2030. in line with UN Sustainable Development Goal no. 13.
Achieve gender equality and empower the position of girls and women in society.
Gender equality in the Nordics has come much further than in most other parts of the world, but there is still room for improvement.
One of the greatest challenges is equal pay for men and women. Embriq focuses on men and women in the company achieving the same salaries for the same positions. The low number of women in the IT industry is also a challenge. To contribute to changing this trend, Embriq wishes to recruit, retain and develop more women in the company.
We have set ourselves the long-term goal of increasing the percentage of women in the company from 14% in 2021 to 22% by 2025. To reach this goal, our job advertisements and interviews have to reflect the fact that we seek diversity and equality within the company. Our development of managerial staff focuses on managers becoming increasingly aware of unconscious bias in the recruitment process.

In order to reduce our climate footprint, we have extended the life cycle of our IT equipment significantly. The equipment is also leased which facilitates reuse.

The power companies
Heroes of the climate crisis
The story of power and electricity is the story of modern society, industrial development and higher living standards. Electricity has also helped to save the environment, particularly in cities plagued by emissions from the combustion of wood, coal and coke. As we now face global environmental and climate problems, power and electricity have again become key contributors to and prerequisites for solutions. The power companies need to ensure a stable power supply both during extreme weather conditions and in the transition to the electrical society – which is why the power companies may become society’s climate heroes.
