Future-proof solution

Lyse Neo decided to split the procurement into three parts, and the overall winner was Embriq with the best solutions for the collection system and the MDM system. Both of these use the Quant platform.

“In our view, Embriq submitted the best bids and stood out by offering a modern, future-proof and meter-independent system. Meter data from district heating, district cooling and gas are collected in a common head-end system, which is of great value to us,” says Mirjana Perkovic-Sprenger, Head of IT and Digitalisation at Lyse Neo. This also brings us one step closer to greater digitization of the “meter value chain”, where our customers can gain better access to energy data.

By offering district heating, Lyse Neo achieves efficient utilisation of surplus energy, as well as helping relieve pressure on the power grid and reduce the need to expand it. This also frees up electricity for emission-reducing electrification projects.

Investing in district heating

Embriq has built up a significant market position in the Nordic region in software, solutions and services for the collection, processing and value enhancement of meter values, aimed particularly at electrical energy and grid companies, as well as large industrial companies. “We are now taking the next step by investing significantly in district heating, where we see exciting opportunities for creating innovative efficiency enhancements for customers in both Norway and, not least, in Sweden,” says Jens Haug, Director Products and Platforms at Embriq.   “This agreement shows that there are viable alternatives to the meter supplier’s collection systems, and we believe this creates value for our customers,” says Haug.

The agreement

The agreement runs for 3 years and covers the products Quant Collect, Quant Core and Quant Flow for the collection of meter data, as well as Quant Core for MDM functionality. The implementation project is scheduled to start before this year’s summer break. Lyse Neo also operates Norway’s largest land-based gas network, and the agreement gives Embriq an option to supply Quant for the collection and value enhancement of meter data within this area.
