We landed in the Czech capital at 8:30 p.m. and hopped straight onto a bus that took us to the Yalta Boutique Hotel. Half an hour later, we arrived at the hotel and were welcomed with light refreshments. Underneath the hotel is a bunker that remained secret for nearly 40 years and is now a Cold War museum.

The first day in Prague started with a hearty hotel breakfast and free time to explore the sunny city. Several of our consultants stopped by the National Museum, which was just a crystal’s throw from the hotel –  Quite literally, since the Czech Republic is known for its crystals. Another contingent of the group headed to to the castle.

The consultants reconvened for a bountiful buffet lunch at the hotel. The Czech Republic is known as the homeland of lager, so the next stop after lunch was a Beer Tour. We got to taste a plethora of local beers, ranging from light to dark, golden to dark pink.

After that, a three-course dinner at the Mlynec restaurant was a great way to sop up the beer sloshing around in our stomachs. Here we were served delicious soup, tender steak, and chocolate cake – all with a panoramic view straight of the Charles Bridge.

Day Two in Prague kicked off with a guided e-bike tour in the morning. The first stop was the National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror. Here we got to enter the catacomb of the Czech Republic’s war heroes. We also cycled all over the city, stopping at several famous landmarks.

After the bike ride, we headed to a restaurant for lunch. The first course featured cured ham with parmesan and arugula, followed by chicken with gnocchi and mushrooms.

After lunch, we all enjoyed some free time. Some of us braved the rain and trudged around the city – while others sought shelter in their cosy hotel rooms.

A few hours later, we met back at the hotel and were transported by bus to Oblanca Sky Restaurant, 66 metres above the ground, where we were served a three-course dinner. The meal started with a tasty soup. The main course was a juicy steak with sauce and vegetables. And dessert was a delectable crème brûlée. The food was delicious, to be sure!

On our last day in Prague, part of the consultant team left on the morning flight. Others enjoyed a few more hours of strolling around the city before catching an evening flight home. This was a wonderful trip that allowed our consultants to get better acquainted with each other – and with the idyllic city of Prague.
