Thrives on solving IT problems
In his role as Head of Hybrid Operations, Alexander encounters complex IT problems on a daily basis. With responsibility for IT operations and monitoring systems for the products supplied by Embriq, his job requires both comprehensive technical understanding and attention to detail, to ensure everything goes according to plan. Along with other leaders in the department, Alexander works to monitor infrastructure, to anticipate and resolve potential IT issues before they affect customers or internal operations.

One of Alexander’s most important tasks is to define and improve the Service Desk’s knowledge base. He also enjoys working closely with managers of other departments at Embriq. Alexander describes his daily work life as filled with a great variety of tasks, which is what he likes most about his job.

“Embriq places a lot of trust in its employees”
When Alexander first came to Embriq, he was prepared for a strict and tightly controlled workday, which he had experienced at other companies in the industry. To his surprise, he found an environment where trust is one of the fundamental values.

“Embriq places a lot of trust in its employees. I noticed that from the start, and it remains true. That’s one of the main reasons why I’ve chosen to stay with the company for 13 years,” says Alexander Wilhemsen.

This level of trust made it easy for Alexander to feel more motivated and confident to accept new positions he has been offered during his career at Embriq.

A journey through exciting roles
His career journey first began with handling customer issues at the Service Desk, after which he was offered an in-house position at Embriq, solving complex challenges as a Problem Manager. His great commitment and impressive work efforts eventually earned him the role of Change Manager, a role he describes as striking a balance between solving technical needs and developing business strategy. He was later given still more technical responsibility, working as  a Technical Account Manager for one of our clients.

The opportunities that Alexander has been offered along the way have been important to his technical and professional development here at Embriq. Alexander has worked on several projects that were both educational and raised Embriq’s standards in IT security. The ability to create something that makes a difference is one of many reasons why he feels that Embriq provides meaningful challenges and that the company supports its employees in their development.

Advice for career growth
When asked what advice he might offer others looking to grow in their careers, Alexander highlights the importance of being proactive, seeking out challenges, and being open to learning. He recommends seizing new opportunities and seeing challenges as a chance to develop. To succeed in a rapidly evolving IT industry, it is essentital to remain open to new learning opportunities.
