Ravdex stärker kvaliteten i mätvärdeshanteringen med Embriq

The agreement was signed in spring 2025, and the solution went live on 26 January 2026. Since the transition, Jørgen Skov Rasmussen, Technical Director at nef Fonden and Managing Director of Ravdex, has particularly highlighted the quality of the meter data.

“The data quality is significantly better than what we were used to. At the same time, the data retrieval rate—that is, the share of expected meter data successfully collected—has generally remained high.”

— Jørgen Skov Rasmussen, Managing Director of Ravdex

Validating and integrating meter data with an MDM system

Meter data must be of the right quality and available in the systems that need it. At Ravdex, these tasks are handled by Quant Core and Quant Flow from Embriq.

Quant Core is Embriq’s MDM solution for validating, assuring the quality of and processing meter data. For the grid company, it provides a more reliable data foundation for operations and market processes. Quant Flow is Embriq’s integration platform, connecting Quant Core with the company’s other operational systems. This enables data to move between systems and support multiple workflows.

For Ravdex, this means meter data is quality-assured in Quant Core and made available in the company’s other operational systems through Quant Flow. This allows meter data management to work seamlessly with the systems Ravdex already uses.

Meter data management as a service (Metering as a Service)

The software is only one part of the delivery. Through Metering as a Service, or MaaS, Embriq takes on broader responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the value chain around the meters. This includes monitoring operational meter data management and helping ensure that the overall solution works in day-to-day operations.

For Ravdex, this means that software, integrations and operational follow-up are part of one integrated service. Embriq’s responsibility covers both the solutions that process and transfer meter data and the services that support ongoing operations.

Since go-live, Ravdex and Embriq have moved from project work to an established operating model with clear responsibilities and regular follow-up. For the customer, it is essential that the agreed responsibilities work in practice.

“Of course, we have an operations handbook, and it contains a lot of good information. But what is written on paper also has to work in reality.”

— Mikkel Højgaard Andersen, Marine Engineer / Electrical Engineer at nef/Ravdex

Replacing an MDM system: from agreement to go-live in ten months

For Ravdex, it was important to stay in control of the transition. The agreement was signed in March 2025, and in the run-up to go-live, the two parties worked on the solution, integrations and approval requirements. Embriq led the project. Weekly status meetings and a shared plan gave both parties an overview of progress, risks and outstanding questions to resolve before moving to the next phase.

“It was important for us to feel confident before moving on to the next step. We wanted to avoid ending up afterwards thinking: Why did we do it that way, or why did we rush it?”

— Mikkel Højgaard Andersen, Marine Engineer / Electrical Engineer at nef/Ravdex

Around ten months after the agreement was signed, the solution went live. Ravdex highlights clear project management and close dialogue as important factors in the successful delivery.

Nordic experience combined with knowledge of the Danish market

Embriq has experience managing meter data for grid companies in Norway and Sweden. In the Ravdex project, that experience was combined with Ravdex’s knowledge of its own metering infrastructure and Danish market processes.

Much of the existing functionality could be used at Ravdex, while the necessary integrations and adaptations were developed for the customer’s systems and the Danish market processes.

“We entered the project with a good understanding of our meter data, systems and the Danish processes, while Embriq had extensive experience with MDM and meter data management in other Nordic markets. That combination worked well. We could focus on the areas that were actually different instead of starting from scratch.”

— Karina B. Nielsen, Project and Finance Coordinator at nef/Ravdex

A partnership that opened the Danish market to Embriq

For Embriq, the project has had significance beyond the delivery to Ravdex itself. Ravdex became Embriq’s first customer in Denmark and an important partner in establishing the company in the Danish market.

“nef and Ravdex hold a special place in Embriq’s history as our first customer in Denmark. They placed great trust in us and in our solutions, and from the start, the collaboration has been characterised by strong expertise, commitment and a shared determination to succeed. The project took Embriq into a new market. It required new integrations and some adaptations, but above all, close collaboration between people with extensive experience on both sides.

“We found that the teams worked as one, with strong commitment from both the specialists and the management teams at nef/Ravdex and Embriq. nef is therefore more than our first Danish Quant customer. Our collaboration with nef and Ravdex helped open the door to a new market for Embriq.”

— Espen Kåsin, Vice President, Embriq
