For Embriq’s consulting division, trips like this are more than just social activities. They are an important part of our culture: building one unified team, celebrating expertise and creating a workplace where people thrive, grow and feel a sense of belonging. The Iceland weekend was a clear reminder of exactly that.

ATV adventure in volcanic landscapes – an energising start

After a smooth flight, we landed at Keflavik and headed straight to the first activity of the weekend: ATV riding on the Reykjanes Peninsula. At 4×4 Adventures Iceland in Grindavík, we received a safety briefing before setting off into the dramatic landscape. For an hour and a half, we rode across lava fields, black sand dunes and rugged mountain terrain. An experience that truly raised both energy levels and heart rates – the perfect kick-off.

Riding through Iceland’s raw natural scenery created a unique sense of team spirit – the kind of shared experience that strengthens relationships across roles and disciplines.

Afterwards, we checked into the hotel and enjoyed lunch before spending the afternoon on optional activities, such as the immersive “Flying over Iceland” experience or relaxation at the iconic Sky Lagoon.

The day concluded with a shared dinner at Grillmarkadurinn, where laughter came easily and the atmosphere was excellent.

The Golden Circle in super jeeps – Iceland at its most authentic

Saturday was dedicated to the classic Golden Circle route. Despite heavy rain, it became one of the highlights of the weekend. In robust super jeeps, we visited three of Iceland’s most famous attractions:

  • Thingvellir National Park – where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet

  • Geysir – with its iconic geothermal activity

  • Gullfoss – the powerful, thundering waterfall

The rain did not dampen spirits; on the contrary, it enhanced the feeling of being close to Iceland’s wild nature. For many, this became a shared experience that impressed and inspired.

The evening ended with a pleasant group dinner at The Fish Company, where stories from the day flowed freely.

A relaxed Sunday and time to reflect

Sunday offered time to explore Reykjavik at our own pace. Some visited small shops and design studios, while others enjoyed a warm cup of coffee and conversation at one of the city’s cosy cafés.

After a few hours in the capital, we headed back to the airport and soon made our way home to Norway, filled with great memories and renewed energy.

Strong relationships are built through shared experiences

The Iceland weekend became a fantastic combination of adventure, collaboration and professional community. Inspiration and motivation flourish when we step outside everyday routines, and culture is strengthened when we share laughter, weather, challenges – and stunning natural surroundings.

For the consulting division, this was a trip that leaves a lasting impression. A weekend full of memories that we bring with us into future projects and collaborations. This is Embriq culture in practice – and one of the reasons we continue to attract talented people who want to be part of a strong, inclusive and forward-thinking professional environment.
