A mountain adventure from the very beginning

Day 1 began in the afternoon with a journey to Ørsta, where we checked into the Ivar Aasen Hotel. A tasty dinner, planning meeting with Uteguiden, and a buzzing atmosphere awaited. We were eager to see what the weekend would bring in terms of weather, snow, and challenges.

First summit: Skårasalen

Day 2 took us to our first peak: Skårasalen. After breakfast and packing lunch, we set off. First on foot through spring terrain, then finally on skis heading upwards. Despite changing weather and icy conditions, we made it to the top. That evening, we arrived at Sagafjord Hotel in Sæbø. Several brave souls took a dip in the 5°C fjord before warming up in the sauna, enjoying a good meal, and celebrating Eilert’s birthday.

Sunshine, fjord transport & slushy spring snow

Day 3 started with sun and big smiles. After breakfast and an Embriq-boost, we took a boat ride along the Hjørundfjord to Trandal. There, a tractor picked us up and carried both people and gear up toward the snow line – an efficient and fun way to kick off the climb to Blåbretinden! At the top, we were rewarded with panoramic views and perfect conditions for skiing down. Is there anything better than slushy snow and Easter sunshine?

Afterski was hosted at the legendary Christian Gaard, where we enjoyed warm food, cold drinks, and great conversations before the boat took us back to the hotel.

One last summit before heading home

Day 4 greeted us with clear skies – of course we had to summit one more peak! This time we headed to Fingeren, the perfect ending to an amazing weekend. We had our packed lunch at the top and enjoyed a magical descent. Tired but happy, we made our way home – filled with unforgettable memories.

Why we keep doing this – year after year

At Embriq, ski touring isn’t just about steep slopes and snow. It’s about shared experiences, cheering each other on, helping a colleague conquer their fear of heights, or putting on climbing skins for the first time. And above all, feeling like you’re part of something truly special.

These trips are what really build team spirit and connection. You get to know new colleagues, challenge yourself both physically and mentally, and realize how lucky you are to work with such amazing people!

We’re already looking forward to next year – and we’re so thankful for the mountains, the guides, and everyone who helped make the weekend unforgettable!
